Jio international roaming plans: every pack, zone and date

Jio international roaming in short

Jio sells the same IR packs to prepaid and postpaid customers, so one set of international roaming Jio plans covers both. They fall into groups: three multi-country voice-and-data packs (100, 132 and 75 countries), three country packs, data-only packs, a Global Pack balance, in-flight packs and Wi-Fi calling packs, at ₹121 to ₹5,999 (Jio, 12 Oct 2026).

Four rules decide most trips. Jio states: “Your plan validity begins only with your first usage—call, text, or data.” The packs do not work on JioFi or JioPhone. Benefits apply only on Jio’s preferred partner network. And regions such as the US have retired 2G and 3G, so there your phone needs 4G/VoLTE or 5G.

Jio IR packs by zone: 100, 132 and 75 countries

Jio’s three multi-country voice-and-data packs differ by country list and price. The 100-country pack is the cheapest of the three per GB, at about ₹194 to ₹238 on every row. The 132-country World Pack costs more per GB but adds Nepal, Bangladesh and South Africa (Jio plan list, checked 12 Oct 2026).

The ₹2,499 row assumes you use all 10 GB.

Jio’s countries list for each zone is a PDF: 100 countries, 132 countries, 75 countries. Thailand, Singapore, the UAE, the UK and Japan are on all three lists; Nepal is on the 132-country list only; for data alone there, see our Nepal eSIM guide. Country packs: USA-Mexico-Canada, Saudi Arabia, Gulf

Jio’s lowest per-GB prices are in its USA-Mexico-Canada packs: ₹1,555 buys 15 days, 12 GB and 150 outgoing minutes, about ₹130 per GB, and the ₹3,455 pack comes to about ₹86 (Jio, 12 Oct 2026). The Saudi Arabia pack covers one country, and the Gulf pack carries a conflict on Jio’s own pages.

USA, Mexico, Canada. Jio’s pack text reads “Pack applicable in USA, Mexico, U.S.Virgin Islands, Canada, Puerto Rico & Australia only”, so Australia is covered too. Data drops to 64 kbps after the limit. Outgoing minutes cover local calls and calls to India, including Wi-Fi calls; incoming calls are free on all three packs.

The Gulf conflict. Jio’s description of this pack says UAE only, while another note on the same page lists six Gulf countries — confirm in the MyJio app before you rely on it outside the UAE. The plan label reads “Gulf Pack-6 Countries”. We do not state that it works in all six. For the UAE, see roaming in the UAE.

Data-only packs, Global Pack balance, in-flight and Wi-Fi calling

The data-only international roaming Jio plans cost ₹599 for 1 GB over 7 days up to ₹5,899 for 10 GB over 21 days, with no calls. The Global Pack (₹1,101 or ₹1,102) is a 28-day balance, not a data pack. In-flight packs start at ₹195, Wi-Fi calling at ₹121 (Jio, 12 Oct 2026).

In-flight

Three in-flight packs last one day: ₹195 for 250 MB, ₹295 for 500 MB and ₹595 for 1 GB, each with 100 outgoing minutes and 100 SMS, no incoming calls. Jio states that availability “will differ from airline to airline”.

Where Jio has no data pack: Maldives, Bhutan, Georgia

Maldives and Bhutan sit in none of Jio’s data-pack zones (100, 132, 75 or Data); only the Global Pack balance, spent at standard roaming rates, lists them. Georgia is missing even from the Global Pack list. Egypt appears only in the Data pack list (lists checked 12 Oct 2026).

How to activate Jio international roaming

Buy a Jio IR pack before you fly: a Jio international roaming recharge is made in the MyJio app or on Jio’s plan list. Jio postpaid IR is switched on in self-care. Validity starts with your first call, text or data. To stop roaming, use the MyJio app or Jio’s own international services page.

We give no menu-by-menu steps; follow the prompts in the MyJio app. Three rules matter before you pay.

Jio states that “International Roaming services do not work on JioFi & JioPhone device”. Child accounts need their own suitable IR pack. If your phone attaches to a non-preferred partner network, “standard rates will be applicable”.

Bank OTPs arrive as SMS on your Indian number, and no page can promise that every OTP will reach you. One r/nri user wrote on 28 May 2025: “i brought Jio sim to the uk from India in April. i have never bought an IR plan and i have not recharged at all since returning. Jio pack vs a data eSIM for a one-week trip

For a one-week Thailand trip, Jio’s cheapest pack for 7 days is the ₹599 Data pack: 1 GB, no calls. With calls, the cheapest Jio pack that lasts a week is ₹951 for 4 GB over 10 days, about ₹238 per GB (Jio, 12 Oct 2026). Our Thailand eSIM costs ≈ ₹289 (9 Oct rate) for 1 GB over 7 days.
