Roaming in Georgia from India: Airtel and Vi packs, Jio’s gap, and a travel eSIM
Look for Jio international roaming plans for Georgia and you come up empty: none of Jio’s roaming lists we read, the Global Pack included, names Georgia.
Airtel’s single list and two of Vi’s prepaid lists do. All nine Airtel and Vi packs in our table cap their data in Georgia, and Vi’s caps are small, so the price per GB, checked on 13 Oct 2026, separates them sharply.
Short answer: Airtel and Vi cover Georgia, Jio’s lists do not
Airtel’s ₹1,298 prepaid pack gives 6 GB over 10 days, about ₹216 per GB, the lowest in our table. Vi’s 7-day Ultra gives 2 GB in Georgia and its 10-day Budget pack 250 MB. There is no Jio pack to buy for a Georgia trip. Prices as listed on 13 Oct 2026.
Which Indian SIM works in Georgia? An Airtel or Vi SIM works once roaming is on, with a pack for data. A Georgia eSIM from India covers data only: ours runs on Cellfie, shown as 4G on the storefront, and its days start at the first connection in Georgia.
India’s Ministry of Tourism counts 84,364 departures to Georgia in 2025, against 53,774 in 2024, about 57% more (our calculation).
We sell travel eSIMs, so we have an interest here. The table still shows when your operator pack is the better choice.
Jio in Georgia: not even in the Global Pack list
We checked Jio’s 100-country, 75-country, World Pack and data-pack lists and the Global Pack list. None names Georgia, so there is no Jio Georgia pack to buy. Jio’s Global Pack is a balance spent at standard roaming rates, not a data pack, and it leaves Georgia out too. What a Jio SIM costs there without a pack is not in the lists we read; ask in the MyJio app before you fly.
eSIM Go is not affiliated with Jio,
Airtel, Vi or BSNL. Pack details are taken from their own pages on the date shown.
Airtel’s list and Vi’s non-UL list include Georgia. Next door, Azerbaijan is on Jio’s 100-country, 75-country, World Pack and data-pack lists, while none of Jio’s roaming lists we read names Armenia. A Jio user has two ways around the gap: a travel eSIM for data, or an Airtel or Vi SIM on the trip.

Airtel and Vi packs for Georgia (table)
Airtel sells one prepaid set for every covered country, so the Airtel IR pack Georgia travellers buy is the standard one; it can be booked up to 30 days before travel, and if you do not travel within 30 days it expires with no reimbursement. Vi’s terms are thin: the country is in the non-UL zone for Ultra and in Budget Set 2, whose data is the smallest of Vi’s two Budget sets.
| Pack | Days | Data | Price | Minutes | ≈ ₹ per GB | Source, checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airtel prepaid | 5 | 4 GB | ₹998 | 150 | about ₹250 | Airtel 13 Oct 2026 |
| Airtel prepaid | 10 | 6 GB | ₹1,298 | 200 | about ₹216 | Airtel 13 Oct 2026 |
| Airtel prepaid | 30 | 10 GB | ₹2,998 | 300 | about ₹300 | Airtel 13 Oct 2026 |
| Vi Ultra, non-UL | 7 | 2 GB | ₹3,495 | 200 | about ₹1,748 | Vi 13 Oct 2026 |
| Vi Ultra, non-UL | 10 | 3 GB | ₹4,695 | 300 | about ₹1,565 | Vi 13 Oct 2026 |
| Vi Ultra, non-UL | 14 | 5 GB | ₹5,195 | 500 | about ₹1,039 | Vi 13 Oct 2026 |
| Vi Budget, Set 2 | 10 | 250 MB | ₹995 | 50 | about ₹3,980 | Vi 13 Oct 2026 |
| Vi Budget, Set 2 | 15 | 750 MB | ₹1,495 | 100 | about ₹1,993 | Vi 13 Oct 2026 |
| Vi Budget, Set 2 | 30 | 1 GB | ₹2,998 | 100 | about ₹2,998 | Vi 13 Oct 2026 |
Vi’s postpaid table lists Georgia in Set 2; we could not confirm that this country table is current. BSNL’s postpaid partner list names Georgia but its prepaid list does not, and a partner network is not a pack. Vi’s prepaid T&C say IR packs are “not applicable for customers in J&K, Assam and North East”. Airtel’s FAQ page still shows older prices; its T&C of 24 Sep 2026 list ₹998 and ₹1,298.
Georgia with Armenia or Azerbaijan: packs vs our plans
Airtel’s list names Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, so one pack spans a Caucasus loop. Vi puts all three in non-UL and Budget Set 2. Jio breaks the loop: Azerbaijan is on its lists, while none of Jio’s roaming lists we read names Georgia or Armenia, so a Jio SIM has no pack to buy for either leg.
Our Europe plan lists Georgia, with unlimited rows that slow to 1 Mbps after 5 GB a day, but not Armenia or Azerbaijan. A Tbilisi plus Yerevan trip needs our Global eSIM or two country plans; see the Armenia SIM card guide and the Azerbaijan SIM card guide. Keep a Global line switched off until you land abroad. Seven unlimited days on the Europe plan cost ≈ ₹2,572 (13 Oct rate). The Europe eSIM page lists the rest.
Cost per GB for a 7-day and a 10-day Georgia trip
Only two operators can be ranked here. The test is the same as elsewhere: shortest pack that covers the trip, ordered by price per GB. Vi has no FREE-data row for Georgia and Jio has no row at all. Figures are our division of price by data, from prices listed on 13 Oct 2026.
A week:
Airtel’s ₹1,298 pack ranks first at about ₹216 per GB, ₹185 a day. Vi’s shortest fit is the 7-day Ultra at about ₹1,748 per GB; its 10-day Budget ₹995 pack comes to about ₹3,980. Ten days: Airtel’s ₹1,298 again ranks first, about ₹216 per GB and ₹130 a day; Vi’s 10-day Ultra is about ₹1,565 per GB.
Our Georgia plans carry data only, in six fixed-GB rows. On 12 Oct 2026, 1 GB over 7 days cost ≈ ₹333 (13 Oct rate). At 0.8 GB a day, a week needs about 5.6 GB (our calculation), which does not fit the 5 GB row; the 10 GB row for 30 days costs ≈ ₹2,286 (13 Oct rate), about ₹229 (US$2.40) per GB, charged US$23.99 by card. Your card is charged in US dollars. Your bank converts the amount at its own rate and may add a foreign-transaction (forex markup) fee. How card payments work. Divide a plan’s ≈ ₹ price by its GB on the day you buy to read it against Airtel’s 6 GB.
Every plan is on the Georgia eSIM page. For a local SIM after landing, see the Georgia SIM card guide: a physical Georgia SIM card from a local operator needs a free slot.
OTPs from Indian banks go to the Indian SIM, not to a data-only eSIM. Keep the Indian SIM as the second line with mobile data off, and ask your operator about SMS in Georgia; for a Jio SIM that means the MyJio app. No one can promise delivery. The OTP guide explains the set-up.
Full refund within 30 days of purchase, as long as the eSIM has not connected to any network. If the eSIM doesn’t work and it isn’t your phone’s fault, we refund the payment whether or not it was installed.
How we checked these prices
Each row shows its checked on date, and pack validity comes from the operator’s own terms. To check Jio international roaming plans for Georgia we read Jio’s plan list and its 100-country, 75-country, World Pack, data-pack and Global Pack country lists; none of them names Georgia.
Airtel’s rows are from its T&C dated 24 Sep 2026, Vi’s from its prepaid T&C; dividing price by GB gives the ₹ per GB column. Vi’s zones are an image we typed by hand, so confirm Georgia in the Vi app.

Georgia gets Airtel’s standard prepaid set: ₹998 for 4 GB over 5 days, ₹1,298 for 6 GB over 10 days and ₹2,998 for 10 GB over 30 days, from Airtel’s T&C dated 24 Sep 2026. Prepaid data stays barred abroad without a pack.

Is a travel eSIM cheaper than roaming in Georgia?
That depends on the plan and the day you buy. Of the nine Airtel and Vi packs in our table, Airtel’s ₹1,298 (6 GB, 10 days) comes lowest per GB at about ₹216, and Vi’s ₹995 Budget pack (250 MB) highest at about ₹3,980. It might, but nobody can promise it. The bank sends the OTP as an SMS to your Indian SIM, and our eSIM has no Indian number. Leave the Indian SIM in as the second line with data off and ask your operator about SMS in Georgia.
