The version sold in India decides eSIM support, not the name. Most lists of eSIM support phones are global; this page uses the brands’ India pages, checked on 12 Oct 2026. They show eSIM on every iPhone XS and later, all eight Pixel spec pages on Google Store India, 9 of 31 Motorola models and 1 of 10 OnePlus models.
To check eSIM support, dial *#06# in the phone app. If an EID number appears, the phone has an eSIM chip. None of the maker pages we cite describes this dialler step. Or open the SIM settings and look for “Add eSIM”. On an iPhone, Settings, General, About also shows the EID, per Apple Support.
No EID? Check the SIM settings before ruling the phone out. Then follow the install guide.
India model vs the same phone bought abroad
An Indian variant can differ from the international variant of the same name. OnePlus India lists “Connectivity: eSIM” for the OnePlus 13 but “eSIM: Not supported” for the OnePlus 12. Nothing’s India page for the Phone (3a) Pro reads “e-SIM: Yes (excluding India)”. The India pages describe India versions only.
Samsung’s India list gives the Galaxy A35 and A36 eSIM “Only Europe, North America, Korea”, so the Indian versions have none. Motorola India sells the Motorola Edge 70 Max in three versions; one, “Dual SIM (1 Nano SIM + 1 Nano SIM)”, has no eSIM. For a phone bought abroad, check its SIM settings.

Five brands have their own eSIM compatible phones list on this site, quoting the maker’s India page (checked 12 Oct 2026). Every iPhone from the XS and every Pixel spec page on Google Store India list eSIM; Samsung lists most S, all Z and four A phones; OnePlus and Motorola only a few.
iPhone. Apple lists eSIM from the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR; two active eSIMs from the iPhone 13. The iPhone Air is eSIM-only. iPhone models.
Samsung. Samsung India lists the S20 to S26 with Plus and Ultra, the S25 Edge, the S23 FE to S26 FE, the Z Fold and Z Flip phones, and the A57, A56, A55 and A37. Samsung rows.
Google Pixel. All eight Pixel spec pages on Google Store India list “Dual SIM (Single Nano SIM and eSIM)”. Pixel models.
OnePlus. Only the OnePlus 13 of ten OnePlus India models lists eSIM. OnePlus rows.
Motorola. 9 of 31 Motorola India models list eSIM, including the Razr 60 and the Edge 60 Stylus. Motorola rows.
Brands where most India models lack eSIM
Redmi, POCO, realme and vivo phones rarely make a list of eSIM support phones in India. Of 29 Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO models we checked, Xiaomi’s India pages confirm eSIM on two: the Xiaomi 15 and the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G. For 11 more, only Xiaomi’s global page lists eSIM, so the Indian version stays unconfirmed.
Xiaomi’s global pages show no eSIM for the other 16, including all nine POCO models. realme lists only nano-SIM slots on all four models we checked. Of four vivo models, only the X200 Pro lists “E-SIM: Supported”.
No eSIM on your phone? Your options abroad
Without eSIM, a travel eSIM cannot go on your phone. Three options remain: your operator’s international roaming pack, a physical local SIM bought after landing, or a second phone with eSIM. A local SIM needs a free slot and a phone that is not locked to your operator. Compare packs on the roaming page.
