Privacy policy

This notice explains what personal data eSIM Go asks for to sell your eSIM, why, who else processes it, and how you can exercise your rights. To buy, we ask for one thing: your e-mail. It is written with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind.

The data fiduciary — the party responsible for your data — is the seller, JET SHARING MOBILITY INC (United States). Questions and requests go to our Grievance Officer.

What data we ask for and why

To sell you an eSIM, eSIM Go asks for one piece of data: your e-mail. That’s where the QR code and the link to your order arrive. Everything else comes from what you choose (destination and plan) or is generated by the system when it charges and issues the eSIM. We don’t ask for your name, address, Aadhaar, PAN or passport.

With each order, our database keeps your e-mail, the destination, the plan, the price in US dollars and the purchase and payment dates. It also keeps the payment identifiers returned by Stripe. After the eSIM is issued, it adds the eSIM’s technical data: the ICCID number and the activation code in the QR. We use these to show you your order, resend the QR code and check how much data you have left.

If you buy for someone else, you also give us their e-mail: we use it only to send them the same QR code. If you leave an order unpaid, we may send one reminder e-mail with a link back to that order; if you used a discount coupon, the order also records the code and the discount. The order also records where you came to the site from — for example, a search engine or a campaign link. Your IP address is used as an attempt counter: it limits orders from the same connection to 12 per hour.

If you write to us on WhatsApp or by e-mail, we keep the conversation to resolve your case. It usually contains the order number, your phone’s brand and model and perhaps a screenshot. WhatsApp processes those messages under its own policy, not ours.

We don’t sell your data or share it with advertising networks: the site loads no third-party advertising pixels or tools.

Who else processes your data

These companies process your data to complete the sale. Each receives only what it needs for its part.

  • Payment processor — Stripe. Stripe processes the card payment and charges in US dollars. You enter your card details on Stripe’s payment page: they don’t pass through our server and eSIM Go doesn’t store your card number. We send Stripe your e-mail, the order number, the destination, the plan and the amount. Stripe, Inc. is a US company and processes this step under its own policy (stripe.com/privacy).
  • Hosting and e-mail — Cloudflare. Cloudflare, Inc., also a US company, hosts the site and the order database and sends the e-mails with your QR code. As with any website, Cloudflare processes the technical data of each visit, such as your IP address, to serve you the pages.
  • eSIM network partner. We send our network partner only the plan you bought and an internal order number — not your e-mail or name. The partner returns the eSIM’s technical data; with the ICCID we check your balance and available top-ups. When you use the eSIM, the connection goes through the partner’s network and the local operator at each destination.

To tell the team about each order, the system sends an internal message in our team chat (Telegram). It contains the destination, plan, amount, where you came to the site from, and your e-mail masked: only the first and last letter before the @.

This policy doesn’t cover what your Indian mobile operator processes when you use roaming; that is governed by your operator’s own policy. eSIM Go is not affiliated with Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL.

Your data is processed outside India

The seller is registered in the United States, Stripe and Cloudflare are US companies, and our network partner also operates outside India. Without this there is no sale: the payment has to reach Stripe and the order has to reach our network partner for you to receive the QR code. What travels is your e-mail, the order details and the payment confirmation, used only for the purposes on this page.

How long we keep it

Your order record is kept so we can show you your eSIM again and handle refunds and payment queries. It has no fixed term: the order system doesn’t delete orders automatically. Nor does it delete the attempt counters, which hold your IP address or e-mail. You can ask us to delete your order.

Payment records kept by Stripe follow Stripe’s own retention policy (stripe.com/privacy), not ours.

Your rights and how to use them

You can ask us to:

  • access — tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
  • correct — fix or update data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • erase — delete your data when it’s no longer needed for the order;
  • hear a complaint — about how we handle your data.

Send your request to our Grievance Officer or to support@esimgo.in, with the e-mail or order number of the purchase so we can find your case quickly. We acknowledge a complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within one month of receiving it. Before deleting an order record we’ll warn you: without it you won’t be able to open your eSIM from the order page. An eSIM that has already been issued can’t be withdrawn from our network partner.

If you aren’t satisfied with our answer after using this process, you can take your complaint to the Data Protection Board of India.

Cookies, browser storage and statistics

The site doesn’t set its own cookies and doesn’t load third-party analytics or advertising tools: no Google Analytics, no social media pixels. It does keep a few items in your browser’s storage. These stay on your phone or computer, not in our order database.

Item in your browserWhat it’s forHow long it lasts
Visitor ID (esimin-vid)A random code to count visits without counting the same person twiceUntil you clear the site’s data
Your e-mail (esimin-contact)Pre-fill the order form next time you buyUntil you clear the site’s data
Unpaid order (esimin-pending)Remind you of an order you didn’t finish paying forUsed for 24 hours
Paid-order mark (esimin-paid-…)Count a paid order once in our statistics; holds only the mark “1”Until you clear the site’s data
Coupon from a link (esimin-promo)Apply the coupon at checkoutUsed for 30 days
Appearance (esimin-theme)Remember the look you chose (Apple or Android)Until you clear the site’s data
Visit source (esimin-src)The site you came from, the link’s utm tags and the first page you openedUntil you close the tab
Last external source (esimin-src-last)The site you came from or the utm tags, with no personal data: if you come back and buy, we know where the order came from30 days, then deleted

Your browser also tells our own server which pages you open, what you type into the destination search and which checkout steps you take. These events carry the visitor ID, the page you came from and the utm tags, but not your e-mail. The server keeps them for 3 months in Cloudflare (Analytics Engine) to see how many people get through each step of checkout. Stored are the event type, the page, the visit source (previous site and utm tags), the plan and amount, the country (derived from your IP, which we don’t store), the device type and the visitor ID. We don’t store your e-mail, your IP, your browser’s name or what you type into the search. After 3 months they’re deleted automatically.

The payment page belongs to Stripe: what it stores in your browser is governed by its own policy. You can delete the items in the table from your browser settings, under the site’s data.
