Editorial policy: how eSIM Go checks operator, payment and phone facts

Every price, rule and country list on esimgo.in comes from a named source, carries a checked date in IST and passes one named editor before it goes live. This page sets out how that works, where our rules stop and what we do when sources disagree.

Who writes and reviews our pages

Nadezhda Semenova writes and signs off every page on this site. Each page shows her name under the headline and a “Verified on” date in Indian Standard Time (IST). Pages about card payments also carry a note that they are not financial advice. We list no outside experts and claim no credentials we do not have.

The About page explains who runs the shop.

Where our numbers come from

Every number on a page ranks by source type. First comes the operator’s, bank’s or government’s own page or PDF, which we label [primary]. Then come figures we compute from primary data, labelled [derived] and always written with “about” or “≈”. Third-party reports and community posts rank last: we attribute them by name or leave them out.

A community post is a traveller’s experience. We never use one as proof of a price or a rule. A rule we cannot confirm from a primary page stays unconfirmed. Example: reports that Airtel and Vi now bundle free roaming. The only line we publish is “Some postpaid and annual plans now bundle a few days of roaming — check your plan in the Airtel or Vi app before you travel.” We print no plan prices, dates or country counts for it.

Operator prices appear in ₹ exactly as the operator shows them, with the date of the snapshot. Our own plan prices are never typed by hand. They come from the shop catalogue, so the US$ price on a page matches the checkout; the ≈ ₹ figure is an estimate at the day’s rate. Your card is charged in US dollars. Your bank converts the amount at its own rate and may add a foreign-transaction (forex markup) fee.

When an operator’s own pages disagree: two real cases

Sometimes an operator’s pages contradict each other. We then show both sides with dates, or use the dated primary document and say what the other page still shows.

Jio Gulf pack. Jio’s description of this pack says “Pack applicable in UAE only”, while another note on the same page lists six Gulf countries: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain. We cannot tell which is current, so our wording is: “Jio’s description of this pack says UAE only, while another note on the same page lists six Gulf countries — confirm in the MyJio app before you rely on it outside the UAE.” (Jio plan list, checked 12 Oct 2026.)

Airtel FAQ vs terms and conditions. Airtel’s international roaming page has an FAQ table showing ₹898 for 5 days and 2 GB, and ₹1,198 for 10 days and 3 GB. Airtel’s terms and conditions PDF, dated 24 Sep 2026, lists ₹998 for 5 days and 4 GB, and ₹1,298 for 10 days and 6 GB, and says the revised prices apply from 29 Jul 2026. We use the PDF figures and state that the FAQ still shows older prices (both checked 12 Oct 2026). See the roaming guide for the full tables.

How we compare operator packs and eSIM plans

Every comparison is a table of dated rows. Each row gives the pack price in ₹, GB, days, calls and SMS, a link to the operator document and the checked date. A derived figure shows its method: Airtel’s ₹998 pack with 4 GB for 5 days is about ₹250 per GB (price ÷ GB, terms dated 24 Sep 2026).

We compare only what the documents state. A table lists “the packs below”, never “all packs that cover your country”, unless the operator’s own country list supports it. We show what our eSIM does not include, such as calls and SMS on a data-only plan. We name no competitor’s prices or rankings.

When your operator’s pack is the better choice, the page says so in the same table.

Dates, re-checks and corrections

We re-check operator packs and tables every month and before travel peaks, including the May international roaming peak. We re-check payment pages every quarter. Any Hajj or Umrah page is re-checked each season. Rules from a bank or regulator are re-checked against the original document, not against our earlier copy.

Dates in text use the form “12 Oct 2026”, are in IST and are never later than today. A changed date means changed content: when a re-check changes a figure, we change the row, the “checked on” date and the “what changed” line. When we find an error, we correct the page first and add the correction note second. To report an error, write to us through the contact page.

Conflict of interest: we sell eSIMs

We sell travel eSIMs, so we have an interest here. The table still shows when your operator pack is the better choice. eSIM Go is not affiliated with Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL. Pack details are taken from their own pages on the date shown.

In practice that means three things. Operator pages quote the operator’s own words in double quotation marks. Our eSIM is described by what it includes and excludes, not by adjectives. We make no “best” or “cheapest” claim about ourselves without dated prices next to it.

The seller of record for every eSIM on this site is JET SHARING MOBILITY INC, a United States company, and your card statement shows “JET SHARING”.

How we use AI tools

Drafts are prepared with AI writing tools and are checked, corrected and signed off by our named editor against the sources listed on each page. AI tools do not supply facts: every figure traces back to a source in our fact file, and a claim without a source is cut or marked as unconfirmed.

We do not publish a page that nobody has read against its sources.

Payment and other YMYL pages

Pages about card payments and bank charges affect your money, so they follow stricter rules. They quote only the bank’s or regulator’s own page, give the checked date, and tell you to confirm details with your bank. We do not give menu-by-menu bank steps, which change without notice. We do not recommend credit cards.
