Which Samsung Galaxy phones support eSIM in India
The Samsung eSIM phone list on samsung.com/in covers the Galaxy S20 to S26 series, the Z Fold and Z Flip phones, and the A55, A56, A57 and A37. The Indian variant of the Galaxy A35, A36 or A26 has no eSIM, and the M35 and M55 are not on the list. Checked on 12 Oct 2026.
A Samsung eSIM phone in one country can lack eSIM in another. Samsung India’s eSIM list gives the A35 eSIM “Only Europe, North America, Korea”, so an A35 sold in India has no eSIM. Samsung also warns that eSIM “may not be supported even if your device is listed”, depending on the country of origin.
Not every FE model is on the list either: the S23 FE to S26 FE are, the S20 FE and S21 FE are not. The phone list covers other brands.
Samsung Galaxy India models and eSIM (table)
Samsung India’s page “Galaxy eSIM and supported network carriers” lists 50 phone models with no region limit and 10 more only for named regions. We read it on 12 Oct 2026; Samsung dates the list 19 Sep 2026. The page does not say whether a dual SIM Samsung can run two eSIMs at once, so the table does not claim it.

How to check your Samsung Galaxy in Settings
Two checks settle it: the model number and the EID. Open Settings, then About phone, and read the Samsung model number. On an Indian M35 it starts with SM-M356B, the code on Samsung India’s M35 spec sheet; the M55 code is SM-M556B. Match your phone to the table above.
Then check the hardware. Dial *#06# in the phone app: a Samsung eSIM phone shows an EID next to the IMEI numbers. Samsung’s eSIM page does not describe this check; it is our own dialler step. A phone with an EID can take a travel eSIM; one without it cannot.
A carrier-locked phone can refuse another operator’s profile, so ask the seller or your operator. A phone bought abroad may differ from its row.
Adding a travel eSIM on Samsung Galaxy
Samsung India gives one path for a QR code: Settings, Connections, SIM manager, Add eSIM, then Scan QR code. We read the page on 12 Oct 2026. Install the eSIM in India; it connects when you land abroad. Do it on home Wi-Fi before you fly, with the QR code on a second screen.
For a manual install, Samsung’s page adds one tap after Scan QR code: Enter activation code. On your order page, tap Copy activation code and paste the whole string into that field. A phone cannot scan its own screen, so show the QR code on a laptop or a second phone.

No eSIM on your Samsung Galaxy? Your options abroad
An Indian A-series Galaxy with a region limit cannot hold a travel eSIM, and neither can the M35 or M55. Three options remain: your operator’s roaming pack, a local physical SIM bought abroad, or a second phone with eSIM. None of them needs a new Galaxy, and for a short trip the operator pack can be the better choice.
Operator pack. Jio,

Local SIM. A physical SIM bought on arrival needs a free SIM slot and an unlocked phone. On the M35 and M55 the second slot is hybrid: it takes a SIM or a microSD card, not both. Keep the Indian SIM in the other slot for OTPs.
Second phone. An older phone with eSIM works as a data device, but you carry two phones.
