Which vivo phones support eSIM in India
The list of vivo eSIM supported phones in India is short. Of the four models we checked, only the X200 Pro has an eSIM line on its vivo India spec page: “E-SIM: Supported”, next to two nano-SIM slots. The V40, V30 and Y36 list nano-SIM slots only. We opened all four vivo.com/in spec pages on 12 Oct 2026.
On the four vivo India pages we read, the “E-SIM” field appears only on the X200 Pro, so it is the one entry in our vivo eSIM supported phones table. The other three pages name physical SIM slots and never mention eSIM. Silence is not a formal “no”, so we write “vivo India does not list eSIM for this model” and treat it as no until vivo India says otherwise.
This rule covers vivo India pages only. We hold no vivo page for other markets, so for an imported vivo the Settings check below decides. We also hold no vivo India page for the X300 series, so we state nothing about it.
vivo India models and eSIM (table)
The table quotes the “Card Slot” and “E-SIM” fields as printed on each spec page. One model of four lists eSIM; three do not. Every row links the page we opened on 12 Oct 2026. The rest of the brands are on the eSIM phone list.

Before you buy a plan, open Settings, go to the SIM or mobile network section and look for an option to add an eSIM, such as “Add eSIM”. The spec page is a guide; that menu reads the phone in your hand. Menu names change between software versions, so we give no fixed path. If the option is there, the Android install guide covers setup at home on Wi-Fi.
No eSIM on your vivo? Your options abroad
Phones without eSIM cannot take a travel eSIM: if Settings shows no add-eSIM option, none will install. Three options remain: your operator’s roaming pack, a physical SIM bought at the destination, or a second phone with eSIM. The pocket WiFi alternative, a rented hotspot, is one more device to carry and charge.
Operator pack. Jio,
Airtel and Vi sell roaming packs for the SIM already in your vivo. Jio’s cheapest 7-day pack, for example, is its ₹599 data pack: 1 GB, with no calls (as listed on 12 Oct 2026). The roaming section compares the packs with checked dates. We sell travel eSIMs, so we have an interest here. If your phone has no eSIM, we have nothing to sell you, and one of these options is the right one.
Physical tourist SIM. To buy a physical travel SIM instead, you need a free slot and an unlocked phone. The V40, V30 and Y36 pages each list two nano-SIM slots, and the Y36 adds a separate microSD slot. Your Indian SIM can stay in one slot for bank OTPs; the OTP guide covers the settings. The eSIM vs physical SIM comparison lists the trade-offs.
Second phone. A spare eSIM phone carries the travel eSIM for data while your vivo keeps the Indian SIM.
FAQ
Does the vivo X200 Pro support eSIM in India?
Yes. vivo India’s specification page lists “E-SIM: Supported” for the X200 Pro, next to two nano-SIM slots (checked 12 Oct 2026). Confirm that your phone’s SIM settings show an option to add an eSIM.
Do vivo V40, V30 and Y36 have eSIM?
vivo India does not list eSIM for them. The V40 and V30 pages show 2 nano SIMs, and the Y36 page shows 2 nano SIMs plus a microSD slot (checked 12 Oct 2026). Treat them as no eSIM unless your SIM settings show an add-eSIM option.
What if my vivo phone has no eSIM?
A travel eSIM will not install on it. Use an Indian roaming pack on your own SIM, buy a physical tourist SIM after you land, or carry a second phone with eSIM for data.
