Which Google Pixel phones support eSIM in India

Any dual SIM Pixel from the Pixel 3a on can run one physical SIM and one eSIM, Google’s Pixel help says (checked 12 Oct 2026). Where the phone was bought changes the setup. Google says US Pixel 10 and later phones, except the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, take eSIM only.

The Japan Pixel eSIM rule is narrow: a Pixel 3a bought in Japan cannot use two SIMs. Two eSIM profiles at once are a separate rule. Google lists the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro or later, if your operator allows it. So a Pixel 7 eSIM setup can hold a travel profile next to an Indian number that is already an eSIM. The phone list covers other brands.

Google Pixel India models and eSIM (table)

We opened eight Pixel spec pages on Google Store India on 12 Oct 2026. Each lists the SIMs as “Dual SIM (Single Nano SIM and eSIM)”, shortened to “Nano-SIM + eSIM” below. Every Pixel with a spec page there today takes your Indian SIM in the slot and a travel eSIM next to it.

Older Pixels have no spec page on Google Store India today: the links for the Pixel 9, 8, 7, 6a and 4a open the store’s phone list or home page instead. For them we rely on Google’s help page: eSIM works on a Pixel 3a or later, which takes in later models such as the Pixel 4, 6a or 8. Google does not list the Pixel 3 or Pixel 2, so treat Pixel 3 eSIM as unconfirmed.

How to check your Google Pixel in Settings

The Settings menu is the final test, whatever the table says. Open Settings, tap Network and Internet, then SIMs, then Add SIM. If “Set up an eSIM” appears, your Pixel takes an eSIM. Google notes that on Pixel phones some of these steps work only on Android 11 and up (checked 12 Oct 2026).

On an imported Pixel, trust this check over the table. Google says US Pixel 10 phones take eSIM only, so they have no slot for your Indian SIM. The Indian versions in the table keep a nano-SIM slot.

Adding a travel eSIM on Google Pixel

Install the eSIM in India; it connects when you land abroad. Do it on home Wi-Fi before you fly: Settings, Network and Internet, SIMs, Add SIM, then Set up an eSIM. Google’s page does not describe the QR step for a travel eSIM, so follow the prompts with the QR code from your order page.

Keep your Indian SIM in the physical slot for calls and bank OTPs, and pick the travel eSIM for mobile data. Under “Your primary SIMs” in the same SIMs menu, tap Mobile data and choose the eSIM. Google states: “Only one SIM can be the default for data.” Turn data roaming on for the travel eSIM only.

No eSIM on your Google Pixel? Your options abroad

If Settings shows no “Set up an eSIM” option, a travel eSIM cannot go on that phone. Google’s help page does not list the Pixel 3 or Pixel 2. Three options remain: an international roaming pack from Jio, Airtel or Vi, a physical local SIM bought after landing, or a second phone with eSIM.

A Pixel has one nano-SIM slot. A local SIM pushes your Indian SIM out for the trip, and SMS OTPs to your Indian number stop with it. The roaming section shows operator packs with checked dates.
