Which OnePlus phones support eSIM in India

Check the India spec page for your exact model, not a global review. The Indian vs global variant can differ: OnePlus India’s page for the OnePlus 12 reads “eSIM: Not supported”. A review that says a OnePlus model “supports eSIM” may describe a version sold elsewhere. Your own Settings screen is the final check.

Online eSIM lists disagree about the 13R: some say it supports eSIM, others say it does not. We mark a model “Yes” only when OnePlus India’s page says so, and “Not listed” where the page is silent (how we check sources). Verdicts from the India pages on 12 Oct 2026: OnePlus 13 eSIM yes; OnePlus 12 eSIM, 12R and OnePlus Nord 5 eSIM no; OnePlus 13R eSIM and OnePlus 15R eSIM not listed.

OnePlus India models and eSIM (table)

We checked ten OnePlus models against their oneplus.in spec pages on 12 Oct 2026. One lists eSIM, three say it is not supported, and six show a dual nano-SIM slot with no eSIM line. The OnePlus 13 page adds: “Feature availability may vary due to compatibility with local carrier”.

How to check your OnePlus in Settings

Open Settings, go to the SIM or mobile network section, and look for an option to add an eSIM, such as “Add eSIM”. If that option is there, the phone takes an eSIM. If the section only shows the two physical slots of a dual SIM OnePlus, it does not. Run this check before you buy a plan.

Menu names change between OxygenOS versions, so this page gives no fixed path to the OxygenOS eSIM settings. Our eSIMs need an eSIM-capable phone: a phone that cannot add an eSIM cannot use one. The table covers phones sold in India; on an imported OnePlus, the Settings check wins. Other brands are on the eSIM phone list.

Adding a travel eSIM on OnePlus

On an eSIM-capable OnePlus, add the travel eSIM through the add-eSIM option from the previous step: scan the QR code or enter the details manually. Do it at home on Wi-Fi, before you fly. Install the eSIM in India; it connects when you land abroad. Step-by-step menus are in the Android install guide.

Keep your Indian SIM in the phone as the line for calls and bank OTPs, and run mobile data on the travel eSIM. Turn data roaming on for the travel eSIM only and keep it off on the Indian SIM. Whether SMS reaches your Indian number abroad depends on your operator and plan. The OTP guide covers the dual-SIM settings.

No eSIM on your OnePlus? Your options abroad

If your model is “No”, or “Not listed” and Settings shows no add-eSIM option, a travel eSIM will not install on it. Three options remain: an international roaming pack from your own operator, a physical local SIM bought after you land, or a second phone that supports eSIM.

Start with your operator. Jio, Airtel and Vi publish international packs with their own prices and validity, and the roaming comparison pages put them in a table with checked dates. We sell travel eSIMs, so we have an interest here. The table still shows when your operator pack is the better choice.
