Jio, Airtel & Vi roaming in Ireland vs a travel eSIM
One Jio,
Airtel or Vi roaming pack runs from Dublin to London, while our Ireland plan stops at the Northern Ireland border. The 11 packs in our tables cost ₹599 to ₹4,499 (about ₹194–₹796 per GB where the data is capped), checked 19 Oct 2026.
Short answer: one Indian pack covers Ireland and the UK
One pack covers both countries: every Jio,
Airtel and Vi list that names Ireland also names the United Kingdom. Per GB, the lowest row in our tables is Jio’s ₹1,551 pack (8 GB, 14 days, about ₹194). For a week, Airtel’s ₹1,298 pack comes lowest per GB (6 GB, 10 days, about ₹216).
Which Indian SIM works in Ireland? A Jio, Airtel or Vi SIM works once international roaming is on, but for mobile data, plan on a roaming pack: without one, Airtel bars prepaid data abroad and Vi keeps mobile data off.
India’s Ministry of Tourism counts 134,531 departures to Ireland in 2025, against 121,550 in 2024, about 11% more (our calculation); 31.08% were for leisure or business.
We sell travel eSIMs, so we have an interest here. The table still shows when your operator pack is the better choice.
Jio in Ireland: the 100-country packs and the data packs
Jio international roaming plans for Ireland come from multi-country lists; there is no Jio Ireland pack as such. Five Jio lists name Ireland: the 100-country, 75-country, World Pack and data-pack lists, and the Global Pack balance list. The five rows below are a selection from them.
eSIM Go is not affiliated with Jio,
Airtel, Vi or BSNL. Pack details are taken from their own pages on the date shown.

The data-only pack with the same 8 GB and 14 days costs ₹4,499, ₹2,948 more (our calculation), and carries no minutes. Prepaid and postpaid customers see the same Jio packs. On pack validity, Jio states: “Your plan validity begins only with your first usage—call, text, or data.”
Jio’s ₹1,101 and ₹1,102 Global Pack names Ireland too, but it is a balance spent at standard roaming rates, not a data pack.

Airtel and Vi packs for Ireland (table)
Airtel runs one prepaid set across all covered countries. The Airtel IR pack Ireland travellers buy comes from it: ₹998 (5 days), ₹1,298 (10 days) or ₹2,998 (30 days), beside a 1-day ₹698 and a 365-day ₹4,999 pack. Vi roaming Ireland follows its zones: Ireland is in the UL zone, where Ultra data is printed as FREE, and in Budget Set 1.
Book an Airtel prepaid pack up to 30 days before travel; if you do not travel within 30 days, it expires with no reimbursement. Airtel’s prepaid validity starts when your phone latches on to a covered foreign network and makes chargeable usage.
| Pack: data, days | Price | ₹ per GB [derived] | Source, 19 Oct 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airtel prepaid: 4 GB, 5 days | ₹998 | about ₹250 | Airtel |
| Airtel prepaid: 6 GB, 10 days | ₹1,298 | about ₹216 | Airtel |
| Airtel prepaid: 10 GB, 30 days | ₹2,998 | about ₹300 | Airtel |
| Vi Budget, Set 1: 1.25 GB, 10 days | ₹995 | about ₹796 | Vi |
| Vi Budget, Set 1: 2 GB, 15 days | ₹1,495 | about ₹748 | Vi |
| Vi Ultra, UL zone: data printed as FREE, 7 days | ₹3,495 | no GB figure | Vi |
Sources: Airtel’s T&C and Vi’s prepaid T&C, checked 19 Oct 2026; ₹ per GB is our division of price by data.
Vi gives no GB figure for Ultra data in Ireland (₹3,495 for 7 days, ₹4,695 for 10, ₹5,195 for 14, calls included, per Vi), so those packs stay out of our per-GB ranking. Vi postpaid Set 1 names Ireland too and prints ₹3,649 for 7 days as FREE data; we could not confirm that this country table is current. Vi’s prepaid T&C say IR packs are “not applicable for customers in J&K, Assam and North East”.
Airtel’s FAQ page still shows older prices than its T&C dated 24 Sep 2026. BSNL names Ireland on both its partner lists (read on 21 Oct 2026); a partner network is not a pack.
Dublin with Belfast or London: one operator pack, one or two eSIM plans
Dublin plus London or Belfast takes one operator pack. Jio’s five lists, Airtel’s single list and Vi’s prepaid UL zone, Budget Set 1 and postpaid Set 1 all name Ireland and the United Kingdom together. No list names Northern Ireland separately, so confirm a Belfast day in your operator’s app.
On our side, Northern Ireland is outside our Ireland plan, which stops at the border. Our UK plan reaches Northern Ireland as well as England, Scotland and Wales (Ireland and Northern Ireland). The Europe plan lists Ireland and the United Kingdom, but no line names Northern Ireland, so ask us before you rely on it in Belfast.
For 1 GB over 7 days, the Ireland plan costs ₹329, the UK plan ₹329 and the Europe plan ₹489. Your card is charged exactly the ₹ amount shown at checkout, in rupees; we don’t convert currency. Because the seller is registered outside India, some banks treat a rupee payment as international and may add a fee; check your card’s terms. How card payments work.
Cost per GB for a 7-day and a 14-day Ireland trip
Our test, in words: for each operator take the shortest pack that lasts the whole trip, rank the picks by price per GB, and leave Vi’s FREE-data rows out. ₹ per GB is our division of price by data, from prices listed on 19 Oct 2026.
Seven days: Airtel’s 10-day ₹1,298 pack ranks first at about ₹216 per GB. Jio’s fit, the 7-day ₹599 data pack (1 GB, no calls), comes second at about ₹599; with calls, the 10-day ₹951 pack is about ₹238. Vi’s 7-day Ultra is a FREE-data row, so its 10-day Budget pack comes last at about ₹796.
Fourteen days: Jio’s ₹1,551 pack ranks first at about ₹194.
Airtel has no 14-day prepaid pack, so its fit is the 30-day ₹2,998 (about ₹300). Vi’s 14-day Ultra is FREE data again; its 15-day Budget pack, a day longer, comes to about ₹748.
Our Ireland eSIM from India carries data only and connects when you land, on the network our Ireland page lists as 3 (4G); its days start at the first connection there. Of our 13 Ireland plans, 6 are unlimited, slowing to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. Today 2 GB over 15 days costs ₹439, about ₹220 per GB.
A pack is the better choice when people must reach your Indian number: every row except Jio’s two data packs carries minutes, and our plans carry none. To keep your Indian number for OTP codes, leave the Indian SIM in as a second line with mobile data off. Ask your operator about SMS in Ireland; no page can promise delivery (OTP guide).
For a local SIM after landing, a physical Irish SIM card from a local operator needs a free slot. Our plans are on the Ireland eSIM page; see also UK roaming and Europe roaming.
Full refund within 30 days of purchase, as long as the eSIM has not connected to any network. If the eSIM doesn’t work and it isn’t your phone’s fault, we refund the payment whether or not it was installed.
How we checked these prices
Every row links the operator’s own document. The Jio international roaming plans for Ireland above come from five Jio lists; we matched Ireland and the United Kingdom against every list by script, and none names Northern Ireland. Vi’s zones are an image we typed by hand: confirm Ireland in the Vi app.
