Short answer: Vi’s 7-day ₹3,495 Ultra prints Turkey’s data as “FREE”

For a week with calls, Vi’s Ultra costs ₹3,495 for 7 days, with data printed as “FREE” and calls included, per Vi: about ₹499 a day (our division). Among capped packs, Jio’s ₹1,551 gives 8 GB over 14 days, about ₹194 per GB, and Airtel’s ₹1,298 gives 6 GB over 10 days, about ₹216. Prices as listed on 19 Oct 2026.

Which Indian SIM works in Turkey? Jio, and Vi SIMs all do once international roaming is on, but mobile data needs a pack. A Turkey eSIM from India carries data only, so minutes on your Indian number stay with the pack. Ours runs on Turk Telekom (Avea) 5G and does not cover Northern Cyprus. Install the eSIM in India; it connects when you land abroad.

India’s Ministry of Tourism, which labels the country “Turkiye”, counts 86,361 departures in 2025 against 143,167 in 2024: about 40% fewer (our calculation).

Jio in Turkey: the 100-, 75- and 132-country packs and the data packs

Jio international roaming in Turkey draws on all four of Jio’s lists with data: the 100-country, 75-country, World Pack (132 countries) and data-pack lists. Prepaid and postpaid customers get one set of packs. The Jio Turkey pack rows below are a selection from those lists.

Jio’s file puts the ₹2,851 pack, named “IR East Asia, Europe and US Pack”, in the 100-country zone, which lists Turkey; confirm it in MyJio before you buy. On pack validity, Jio states: “Your plan validity begins only with your first usage—call, text, or data.”

Airtel and Vi packs for Turkey (table)

Turkey is on Airtel’s single list, so the IR pack Turkey travellers buy is the standard prepaid set. Vi roaming Turkey rows sit in three places: the prepaid UL zone, Budget Set 1 and postpaid Set 1. The UL zone and the Budget set are separate reasons for a row’s data, so each row names its own.

Vi’s “FREE” is a label inside a paid pack: the 7-day Ultra costs ₹3,495, and without a pack Vi keeps mobile data off, so roaming is not free. Vi prints no GB figure for these rows, so the table divides price by days. Vi’s postpaid table lists Turkey in Set 1, where data is also printed as “FREE”; we could not confirm that this country table is current. BSNL lists Turkey as a prepaid and postpaid partner network, which is not a pack. Vi’s IR packs are “not applicable for customers in J&K, Assam and North East”. Airtel’s FAQ page still shows older prices; its T&C dated 24 Sep 2026 list ₹998 and ₹1,298.

Istanbul plus Europe on one trip: packs vs the Europe plan

Greece, France and Italy share Turkey’s lists: all four Jio lists with data, Airtel’s single list and Vi’s prepaid UL zone. A Vi Ultra pack keeps its “FREE” label across the four. Switzerland is where Vi’s terms change: it is non-UL, and the 7-day Ultra gives 2 GB for ₹3,495 there (Switzerland roaming).

One Ultra pack therefore carries two sets of terms on a route that adds Switzerland; how it is counted across both is not in Vi’s terms, so ask Vi.

On our side, the Turkey plan covers Turkey only, not Northern Cyprus; its unlimited rows slow to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. The Europe eSIM lists 41 countries, Turkey, Greece, France, Italy and Switzerland among them, and its six unlimited rows slow to 1 Mbps after 5 GB a day. On Android both need the access point name entered by hand (APN guide). The next section prices both; Europe roaming covers the multi-country trip.

Cost per GB for a 7-day and a 14-day Turkey trip

The test: for each operator, the shortest pack that lasts the whole trip, ranked by price per GB (our division of price by data). Vi’s “FREE” rows carry no GB figure, so they are left out and get a price per day instead.

Seven days: Airtel’s shortest fit is the 10-day ₹1,298 pack, about ₹216 per GB. Jio’s is the 7-day ₹599 data pack, about ₹599 without calls; with calls, the 10-day ₹951 pack comes to about ₹238. Vi’s shortest capped fit is the 10-day Budget ₹995, about ₹796. Ranked: , Jio, Vi Budget. The 7-day Ultra comes to about ₹499 a day (our division).

Fourteen days: Jio’s ₹1,551 pack is the shortest fit and the lowest capped figure, about ₹194 per GB. Airtel has no 14-day prepaid pack, so its fit is ₹2,998 for 30 days, about ₹300. Vi’s capped fit is Budget ₹1,495 for 15 days, about ₹748. The 14-day Ultra costs ₹5,195, about ₹371 a day (our division).

Where Vi’s pack is the better choice: a week with calls on your Indian number and more than 12 GB of data. Only two capped packs in our tables hold more: Jio’s ₹3,999 (20 GB over 30 days) and Vi’s ₹6,995 (15 GB over 28 days). Both cost more than the 7-day Ultra at ₹3,495, whose data Vi prints as “FREE”. Our eSIM has no minutes, so it competes on data only.

Our Turkey plans, today: 1 GB over 7 days costs ₹289, 5 GB over 30 days ₹679 and 10 GB over 15 days ₹919, about ₹92 per GB. The 7-day unlimited row costs ₹1,449, about ₹207 a day (our division), and slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. The Europe plan’s 7-day unlimited row costs ₹2,599 and slows to 1 Mbps after 5 GB a day. Plan days start at the first connection to a Turkish network, so installing at home uses none. The Turkey eSIM page lists every plan. The Turkey SIM card guide covers a local SIM after landing, and a physical Turkey SIM card from a local operator needs a free slot.

Bank OTPs land on your Indian number as SMS, and a data-only eSIM cannot receive them. Keep the Indian SIM in as a second line with mobile data off and ask your operator whether SMS works in Turkey; no page can promise delivery. The guide to keep Indian number for OTP shows the settings.

Full refund within 30 days of purchase, as long as the eSIM has not connected to any network. If the eSIM doesn’t work and it isn’t your phone’s fault, we refund the payment whether or not it was installed.

How we checked these prices

Each row shows its checked on date, the day we read the operator’s own document. For international roaming Turkey coverage and the Jio international roaming in Turkey rows, that means Jio’s plan list and country lists. For , it is the T&C dated 24 Sep 2026; for Vi, its prepaid and postpaid T&C. Vi’s zone lists are an image we copied by hand, so confirm Turkey in the Vi app. Jio’s pack text and its data-pack list disagree, so we quote no country count. Side by side: Jio vs Airtel vs Vi.
