Short answer: Jio’s Saudi pack, Vi’s Haj pack or an eSIM

Take Jio’s Saudi Arabia pack for a week or two with calls: ₹891 for 2 GB over 7 days, ₹1,291 for 4 GB over 14 days, as listed on 12 Oct 2026. Airtel’s ₹1,298 prepaid pack gives 6 GB over 10 days. Vi’s ₹2,388 Haj pack lasts 40 days with 4 GB. Take the eSIM if you mostly need data.

Vi’s Ultra packs are capped in Saudi Arabia. The country sits in Vi’s non-UL zone, where Ultra gives 2 to 5 GB, not the data Vi prints as FREE in its UL zone.

Jio’s Saudi Arabia pack and the Gulf pack note

Jio sells three packs made for Saudi Arabia: ₹891 for 2 GB over 7 days, ₹1,291 for 4 GB over 14 days and ₹2,891 for 10 GB over 30 days, as listed on 12 Oct 2026. Jio’s page says “Pack applicable in Saudi Arabia only.”

Jio’s Gulf pack costs ₹898 for 1 GB over 7 days, ₹7 more than the Saudi pack for half the data. Jio’s description of the Gulf pack says UAE only, while another note on the same page lists six Gulf countries — confirm in the MyJio app before you rely on it in Saudi Arabia.

Jio’s 100-country pack also lists Saudi Arabia: ₹951 for 4 GB over 10 days, about ₹30 per extra GB over the ₹891 pack (our derivation). Saudi Arabia is also on the lists for Jio’s World Pack and data packs; the ₹599 data pack gives 1 GB for 7 days with no calls. Jio states: “Your plan validity begins only with your first usage—call, text, or data.”

Airtel and Vi packs that work in Saudi Arabia (table)

Airtel sells one pack set for every covered country, so Saudi Arabia gets no pack of its own; its 1-day prepaid pack costs ₹698 for 1 GB. Vi covers Saudi Arabia with its Haj, Ultra and Budget packs; the table shows Haj and Ultra rows. The eight packs below cost ₹891 to ₹3,495 as listed on 12 Oct 2026.

Cost per GB for 7, 14 and 30 days

For 7 days, Jio’s ₹891 pack costs about ₹446 per GB, or ₹127 a day. For 14 days, Jio’s ₹1,291 pack costs about ₹323 per GB. For 30 days, Jio’s ₹2,891 pack costs about ₹289 per GB, and Airtel’s ₹2,998 prepaid pack, also 10 GB, about ₹300. All are our derivations from prices listed on 12 Oct 2026.

Pack validity matters: Airtel’s ₹998 prepaid pack ends after 5 days, so a week needs its ₹1,298 pack: about ₹216 per GB, the lowest in the table.

A 40-day stay is harder. Vi’s ₹2,388 Haj pack covers 40 days but gives only 4 GB. Two annual packs also cover Saudi Arabia: Jio’s ₹2,799 Annual IR plan gives 3 GB for 365 days, and Airtel’s ₹4,999 prepaid pack gives 7 GB for 365 days from the date of purchase. Jio’s Saudi Arabia pack lasts 30 days at most. For 44 days, the ₹2,891 and ₹1,291 packs one after the other would cost ₹4,182 for 14 GB, about ₹299 per GB (our arithmetic), but we have not verified whether two Jio packs can run back to back; check in the MyJio app.

Our eSIM is data-only: 1 GB over 7 days costs ≈ ₹286 (12 Oct rate), and 10 GB over 30 days costs ≈ ₹2,106 (12 Oct rate), about ₹211 (US$2.20) per GB, charged US$21.99 by card. For a 40-day stay, 25 GB over 45 days costs ≈ ₹4,788 (12 Oct rate), charged US$49.99 by card. Your card is charged in US dollars. The ≈ ₹ figure moves with the exchange rate: divide a plan’s price by its GB on the day you buy. Install the eSIM in India; it connects when you land abroad. Full refund within 30 days of purchase, as long as the eSIM has not connected to any network. If the eSIM doesn’t work and it isn’t your phone’s fault, we refund the payment whether or not it was installed.

Can I use my Indian SIM in Saudi Arabia without a pack?

Not for data on most lines. Airtel prepaid bars data without a pack “to avoid any accidental usage”; Vi’s RoamSafe keeps it off. Airtel postpaid bills standard rates until a day’s charges pass ₹698, then applies a ₹698 one-day pack. Terms checked 12 Oct 2026.

Vi lets you turn data on for 2 days at standard rates by sending ACT IRDATA to 199. Jio’s no-pack rates are unverified; check the MyJio app.

Bank OTPs arrive as SMS on your Indian number, and our eSIM carries data only, so it cannot receive them. To keep your Indian number for OTP, leave the SIM in as a second line with its data off. Airtel’s and Vi’s ₹118 prepaid options cover incoming SMS for 28 days, and Airtel’s needs your regular prepaid plan to stay active; for Jio, check the MyJio app. No page can promise that every OTP will reach you. A Saudi Arabia tourist SIM from a Saudi mobile operator such as stc, Mobily or Zain comes with a local number; stc, for one, lists “sawa visitor” packages on its own site. We hold no verified prices for them.
