Jio, Airtel & Vi roaming in Kuwait vs a travel eSIM

Kuwait City in morning haze: compare roaming packs for Kuwait with an eSIM.

In Kuwait, as in the UAE, Vi’s prepaid Ultra pack runs on its UL terms: Kuwait sits in Vi’s 40-country UL zone, and Vi prints the Ultra data there as FREE. Jio international roaming plans for Kuwait are the 100-country pack plus a Gulf pack with a conflict attached. For the capped packs we give a price per GB, checked on 13 Oct 2026.

Short answer: which Indian packs cover Kuwait

For a week, Vi’s Ultra pack costs ₹3,495 for 7 days with data printed as FREE and calls included, per Vi, about ₹499 a day. Where data is capped, Jio’s ₹1,551 pack (8 GB, 14 days) is lowest at about ₹194 per GB, and ’s ₹1,298 prepaid pack (6 GB, 10 days) about ₹216. Prices as listed on 13 Oct 2026.

A pack is the better choice when you need minutes on your Indian number, which a data-only eSIM does not have. A Kuwait eSIM from India covers data only: ours runs on and 5G, and plan days start at the first connection in Kuwait.

India’s Ministry of Tourism counts 978,475 departures to Kuwait in 2025, up from 906,965 in 2024, about 8% (our calculation); 27.94% were leisure or business trips. The Ministry of External Affairs lists 1,036,389 non-resident Indians in Kuwait as of January 2026.

Jio international roaming plans for Kuwait: a Gulf pack with a conflict

Jio’s Gulf pack costs ₹898 for 1 GB over 7 days, ₹1,598 for 3 GB over 14 days and ₹2,998 for 7 GB over 21 days. Jio’s description of this pack says UAE only, while another note on the same page lists six Gulf countries, Kuwait among them; confirm in the MyJio app before you rely on it in Kuwait.

The 100-country voice-and-data pack lists Kuwait without any such conflict, as do the 75-country, World Pack and data-pack lists. The four rows below are a selection from those lists; Jio sells the same packs to prepaid and postpaid customers.

eSIM Go is not affiliated with Jio, , Vi or BSNL. Pack details are taken from their own pages on the date shown.

Airtel and Vi packs for Kuwait: Vi’s Ultra data is FREE here (table)

Kuwait is in Vi’s prepaid UL zone, in Budget Set 1, and in postpaid Set 1. Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain are prepaid non-UL, so Kuwait and the UAE are the only Gulf states where Vi prints Ultra data as FREE. ’s single set covers Kuwait, so the Airtel IR pack Kuwait travellers buy is the standard prepaid set; it can be booked up to 30 days before travel, and if you do not travel within 30 days it expires with no reimbursement.

Vi’s postpaid table lists Kuwait in Set 1, where Vi prints data as FREE; we could not confirm that this country table is current. Vi’s prepaid T&C say IR packs are “not applicable for customers in J&K, Assam and North East”. Airtel’s FAQ page still shows ₹898 and ₹1,198, while the T&C dated 24 Sep 2026 list ₹998 and ₹1,298.

Kuwait with Saudi Arabia or Bahrain: packs vs the Middle East plan

Jio’s 100-country list and ’s single list name Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain alike, so one pack spans the route. Vi changes at the border: Ultra data is printed as FREE in Kuwait and capped in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, so Kuwait City plus Manama means one pack on two sets of terms.

Our Middle East plan lists Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and ten more countries, in unlimited rows only, slowing to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. Seven days on it cost ≈ ₹3,906 (13 Oct rate). The Kuwait-only plan sells 7 unlimited days for ≈ ₹2,810 (13 Oct rate), with the same 1 Mbps slowdown after 3 GB a day. See the Middle East eSIM page, Saudi Arabia roaming and, for the opposite Vi verdict, Qatar.

Cost per GB for a 7-day and a 14-day Kuwait trip

How we rank: for each operator, the shortest pack that lasts the whole trip, ordered by price per GB, with Vi’s FREE-data rows left out because they have no per-GB figure. The ₹ per GB values are our division of price by data, from prices listed on 13 Oct 2026.

TripJioAirtel prepaidVi (capped rows)Vi Ultra (FREE data)

14 days₹1,551, about ₹194₹2,998 (30 days), about ₹300Budget ₹1,495, about ₹748₹5,195, about ₹371 a day

Ranked by price per GB, a week goes , then Jio, then Vi Budget; two weeks go Jio, then Airtel, then Vi Budget. Airtel has no 14-day prepaid pack, so its 30-day pack is the shortest that fits. Vi prints the Ultra data for Kuwait as FREE rather than as a GB figure, so there is nothing to divide; the table gives its price per day instead, ₹3,495 ÷ 7 and ₹5,195 ÷ 14. If you plan heavy use, read Vi’s terms in the Vi app before you rely on it.

Our Kuwait plans carry data only. On 12 Oct 2026 the catalogue priced 1 GB over 7 days at ≈ ₹285 (13 Oct rate), 3 GB over 30 days at ≈ ₹904 (13 Oct rate), and 10 GB over 30 days at ≈ ₹1,905 (13 Oct rate), about ₹191 (US$2.00) per GB, charged US$19.99 by card. Your card is charged in US dollars. Your bank converts the amount at its own rate and may add a foreign-transaction (forex markup) fee. How card payments work. Divide the 7-day unlimited price (3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps) by 7 to set it beside Vi Ultra’s ₹499 a day, or a fixed-GB price by its GB to set it beside the per-GB column.

Android phones need the APN typed in by hand for these plans, with the value sent with your order (APN guide). Every plan is on the Kuwait eSIM page. A local SIM after landing is the subject of the Kuwait SIM card guide: a physical Kuwait SIM card from a local operator needs a free slot.

Banking codes are the weak spot of a data-only plan: the OTP is an SMS to your Indian number, and our eSIM cannot hold one. Run the Indian SIM as a second line with mobile data off to keep the Indian number for OTP use, then ask your operator about SMS in Kuwait. Delivery is not guaranteed by anyone; the OTP guide shows the set-up.

Full refund within 30 days of purchase, as long as the eSIM has not connected to any network. If the eSIM doesn’t work and it isn’t your phone’s fault, we refund the payment whether or not it was installed.

How we checked these prices

Every row has its checked on date, and each links the operator document it came from. For international roaming in Kuwait that means Jio’s plan list and country PDFs, ’s T&C of 24 Sep 2026 and Vi’s prepaid T&C; the per-GB figure is price divided by GB. Jio international roaming plans for Kuwait draw on four lists, Airtel’s on one, Vi’s on two prepaid lists and a postpaid one. Vi’s zones are an image we transcribed by hand, so confirm Kuwait in the Vi app.

FAQ

Will my Jio, Airtel or Vi SIM work in Kuwait?

Yes once international roaming is on: Jio, and Vi each sell roaming packs that list Kuwait. Which Indian SIM works in Kuwait for data still depends on a pack. Airtel bars prepaid data abroad without one, and Vi keeps mobile data off until you buy a pack or turn data on at standard rates.

How much is the Airtel IR pack for Kuwait?

Kuwait gets Airtel’s standard prepaid set: ₹998 for 4 GB over 5 days, ₹1,298 for 6 GB over 10 days and ₹2,998 for 10 GB over 30 days, from Airtel’s T&C dated 24 Sep 2026. Airtel sells the same set for every covered country.

Which Jio international roaming plan covers Kuwait?

The 100-country voice-and-data pack: ₹951 for 4 GB over 10 days, ₹1,551 for 8 GB over 14 days (13 Oct 2026). Jio’s Gulf pack is described as UAE only on one line and as six Gulf countries on another, so confirm Kuwait in the MyJio app first.

Is a travel eSIM cheaper than roaming in Kuwait?

That depends on the plan and the day you buy. Among the capped packs in our tables, Jio’s ₹1,551 (8 GB, 14 days) comes lowest per GB at about ₹194; Vi’s Ultra costs about ₹499 a day over 7 days and has no per-GB figure. Our plans are charged in US dollars, so work out ₹ per GB or per day from today’s price.

Can I get bank OTPs on my Indian number in Kuwait while using an eSIM?

Delivery cannot be guaranteed. Banks text the OTP to your Indian SIM, and our eSIM has no Indian number, so keep the Indian SIM as the second line with data off and check SMS roaming for Kuwait with your operator.
