Short answer: which Indian packs cover Mauritius

Which Indian SIM works in Mauritius? Jio, Airtel and Vi SIMs all do once roaming is on, each with packs that list Mauritius. A 5-night stay fits Airtel’s ₹998 pack (4 GB, 5 days, about ₹250 per GB); a 7-night stay, Airtel’s ₹1,298 (6 GB, 10 days, about ₹216). For Jio international roaming plans for Mauritius, ₹599 gives 1 GB for 7 days without calls. Prices as listed on 13 Oct 2026.

Jio international roaming plans that cover Mauritius

The Jio international roaming plans for Mauritius come from four lists: the 100-country pack, the World Pack, the 75-country pack and the data packs. The six rows here are a selection; the two data packs have no minutes. Jio sells the same packs to prepaid and postpaid customers.

Airtel and Vi packs for Mauritius: prepaid vs postpaid Vi differ (table)

The Airtel IR pack Mauritius travellers buy is Airtel’s single prepaid set, priced in the T&C dated 24 Sep 2026. Vi roaming Mauritius rows come from the non-UL zone for Ultra and from Budget Set 2, the smaller of Vi’s two Budget sets.

Vi postpaid answers differently. Its table puts Mauritius in Set 1, where Vi prints data as FREE: ₹3,649 for 7 days and ₹4,999 for 14. We could not confirm that this country table is current, so check Mauritius in the Vi app, and leave the FREE-data rows out of any ranking. Vi’s IR packs are “not applicable for customers in J&K, Assam and North East”, in Vi’s words. Airtel’s FAQ page still shows older prices; the T&C list ₹998 and ₹1,298.

BSNL’s Mauritius tariff: what the page shows

BSNL’s Mauritius page, read on 14 Oct 2026, prices three special prepaid plans, each with a voice allowance and no data: ₹705 for 1 day with 30 minutes, ₹2,875 for 7 days with 100 minutes, and ₹3,905 for 28 days with 140 minutes. Its tariff table prints a per-MB data rate for each partner network, ₹8.52 on Mauritius Telecom and ₹0.86 on MTML, and notes that “Tariffs are indicative and subject to change without prior notice.” These are printed rates; the page does not say which partner your phone will use.

Prepaid roaming needs a special SIM, in BSNL’s words: “Visit to the nearest BSNL Customer Care Centre and collect the special International Roaming SIM after filling up the necessary forms along with the required documents.” Activation is “Recharge with STV 1967 for Activation of prepaid International roaming for 365 days”.

A 5-night, 7-night and 10-night stay: which pack or plan fits

To compare cost per GB, we take each operator’s shortest pack that lasts every night (one day of use per night; arrival and departure can add one) and rank by price per GB, our division of price by data, leaving Vi’s FREE-data rows out.

Airtel ranks first at all three lengths.

Our Mauritius plans run on Emtel 4G, data only: five fixed-data plans and one 10-day unlimited plan that slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. On Android, enter the APN by hand; iPhone sets it automatically. At 0.3 GB a day, 5 nights take about 1.5 GB (our calculation), so 2 GB over 15 days at ≈ ₹1,238 (13 Oct rate) fits. At 0.8 GB a day, 7 nights take about 5.6 GB, past a 5 GB row: the 10 GB plan costs ≈ ₹4,096 (13 Oct rate), about ₹410 (US$4.30) per GB, charged US$42.99 by card, and the 10-day unlimited plan costs about the same, ≈ ₹4,001 (13 Oct rate). On 12 Oct 2026 even that 10 GB plan, our lowest per GB among fixed-data Mauritius plans, came to more per GB than Airtel’s ₹1,298 pack, which also carries minutes. If you are on Airtel and 6 GB covers your stay, the pack is the better choice.

A twin-island trip changes the Jio answer: Jio lists the Seychelles only for its Global Pack balance, while Airtel and Vi list both islands.
