Short answer: Airtel and Vi bundle calls with data, Jio does not

Airtel international roaming for Jordan comes with minutes: the ₹1,298 prepaid pack gives 6 GB and 200 minutes over 10 days, about ₹216 per GB. Jio’s ₹599 data pack gives 1 GB over 7 days, with no calls. Prices as listed on 19 Oct 2026.

Which Indian SIM works in Jordan? A Jio, Airtel or Vi SIM works once international roaming is on, but for mobile data, plan on a roaming pack: without one, Airtel bars prepaid data abroad and Vi keeps mobile data off.

Jio in Jordan: data packs and the Global Pack, no voice-and-data pack

Jordan is on Jio’s data-pack and Global Pack lists, and on none of its voice-and-data lists (100-country, 75-country, World Pack). So every Jio Jordan pack with data is a data pack without calls. Prepaid and postpaid customers get the same packs.

The Global Pack lists Jordan as a balance, not a data pack: ₹1,101 or ₹1,102 for 28 days, spent at standard roaming rates. Jio’s Wi-Fi calling packs list Jordan too, for Wi-Fi calls only, with no data. On pack validity, Jio states: “Your plan validity begins only with your first usage—call, text, or data.”

Airtel and Vi packs for Jordan, and Vi’s 2 GB Ultra cap (table)

Airtel international roaming for Jordan uses one pack set for every country on its list (Airtel advertises 189 countries). The Airtel IR pack Jordan travellers buy is the standard prepaid one. It can be booked up to 30 days before travel; if you do not travel within 30 days, it expires with no reimbursement. Vi roaming in Jordan follows two prepaid lists: Budget Set 2 and the non-UL zone, which caps Ultra data.

Vi prints Ultra data as FREE only inside its 40-country UL zone, and Jordan is not in it. Vi’s postpaid terms put Jordan in Set 2, not Set 1, where data is printed as FREE. We could not confirm that this country table is current.

BSNL lists Jordan as a prepaid and postpaid partner; a partner network is not a pack. Vi’s prepaid T&C say IR packs are “not applicable for customers in J&K, Assam and North East”. Airtel’s FAQ page still shows older prices; the T&C dated 24 Sep 2026 list ₹998 and ₹1,298.

Jordan with Egypt on one trip: the same Jio gap on both sides

Jio’s data packs list both Jordan and Egypt; its voice-and-data lists name neither. So one data pack lists both, still without calls. Airtel’s single list names both. Vi prepaid puts both in the non-UL zone and in Budget Set 2. The Egypt comparison has its rows.

Cost per GB for a 7-day and a 14-day Jordan trip

The verdict test, in words: each operator’s shortest pack that lasts the whole trip, ranked by price per GB, with Vi’s FREE-data rows left out (Vi prepaid has none for Jordan). Prices as listed on 19 Oct 2026.

A week: Airtel’s ₹1,298 pack ranks first at about ₹216 per GB. Jio’s two 7-day data packs follow at about ₹599 and ₹600, with no calls. Vi’s 7-day Ultra comes last at about ₹1,748. At 0.3 GB a day, a week takes about 2.1 GB (our calculation). That is more than Jio’s ₹599 pack holds and just over Vi’s 2 GB; Airtel’s 6 GB and Jio’s 5 GB pack cover it.

Fourteen days: Airtel sells no 14-day prepaid pack. For Airtel international roaming in Jordan the fit is the 30-day ₹2,998 pack, about ₹300 per GB. Jio’s two 14-day data packs cost ₹999 for 2 GB and ₹4,499 for 8 GB, about ₹500 and ₹562 per GB, without calls. Vi’s 14-day Ultra lands at about ₹1,039. Jio’s ₹999 is the smallest bill, a third of Airtel’s ₹2,998 for a fifth of the data. At 0.3 GB a day that is about 4.2 GB (our calculation), more than the ₹999 pack holds.

Bank OTPs arrive by SMS on your Indian number. Keep that SIM in as a second line with mobile data off; no page can promise delivery (keep Indian number for OTP).

Full refund within 30 days of purchase, as long as the eSIM has not connected to any network. If the eSIM doesn’t work and it isn’t your phone’s fault, we refund the payment whether or not it was installed.
