Jio, Airtel & Vi roaming in Cambodia vs a travel eSIM
A Jio 100-country pack bought for Bangkok does not cover Siem Reap, and the Vi Ultra pack that prints Thai data as “FREE” (₹3,495 for 7 days) gives 2 GB in Cambodia. Cambodia sits outside Jio’s 100-country list and Vi’s UL zone; Thailand and Vietnam sit inside both. The 15 packs in our tables cost ₹599 to ₹5,195 (about ₹216–₹3,980 per GB where the data is capped), checked 19 Oct 2026.
Short answer: which Indian packs cover Cambodia
All three list Cambodia, on narrower terms than for Thailand. Airtel’s ₹998 pack gives 4 GB and 150 minutes over 5 days, about ₹250 per GB. Jio’s World Pack gives 2 GB over 14 days for ₹1,499; its data packs carry no calls. Vi’s 7-day Ultra gives 2 GB for ₹3,495. Prices as listed on 19 Oct 2026.
Which Indian SIM works in Cambodia? Jio,
Airtel and Vi SIMs work once international roaming is on, with a pack for mobile data. A Cambodia eSIM from India is data only, so calls on your Indian number need the pack. Ours runs on Smart, 4G. Install the eSIM in India; it connects when you land abroad.
We sell travel eSIMs, so we have an interest here. The table still shows when your operator pack is the better choice.
Jio in Cambodia: the World Pack and the data packs, not the 100-country pack
Jio international roaming plans for Cambodia come from two families: Jio’s 100- and 75-country packs do not list Cambodia; its World Pack (132 countries) and its data packs do. Thailand and Vietnam, by contrast, are on all four Jio lists with data. Prepaid and postpaid customers get the same packs; the Jio Cambodia pack rows below are a selection.

Airtel, Vi or BSNL. Pack details are taken from their own pages on the date shown.

On pack validity, Jio states: “Your plan validity begins only with your first usage—call, text, or data.” Pack benefits apply “only on the preferred partner network in the visited country”.

Airtel and Vi packs for Cambodia: capped Ultra, Budget Set 2 (table)
Airtel’s single list names Cambodia, so the
Airtel IR pack Cambodia travellers buy is the standard prepaid set. For Vi roaming Cambodia sits in the non-UL zone, where Ultra is capped, and in Budget Set 2, whose data is smaller than Set 1’s.
| Pack | Price | Days | Data | Minutes | ≈ ₹ per GB (our division) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airtel prepaid | ₹998 | 5 | 4 GB | 150 | ₹250 |
| Airtel prepaid | ₹1,298 | 10 | 6 GB | 200 | ₹216 |
| Airtel prepaid | ₹2,998 | 30 | 10 GB | 300 | ₹300 |
| Vi Ultra (non-UL) | ₹3,495 | 7 | 2 GB | 200 | ₹1,748 |
| Vi Ultra (non-UL) | ₹4,695 | 10 | 3 GB | 300 | ₹1,565 |

Vi’s postpaid country table lists Cambodia in Set 2 (₹3,999 for 10 days gives 14 GB); we could not confirm that the table is current. BSNL lists Cambodia as a postpaid partner network only, which is not a pack. Vi’s IR packs are “not applicable for customers in J&K, Assam and North East”. Airtel’s FAQ page still shows older prices; the T&C dated 24 Sep 2026 list ₹998 and ₹1,298.
Siem Reap with Bangkok or Ho Chi Minh City: one trip, two sets of pack terms
The border changes Jio’s list and Vi’s zone; Airtel’s pack stays the same. Vi’s South Asia pack (₹1,899 for 5 days, 1 GB a day) lists Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia, so not Cambodia or Vietnam. The other legs have their own pages: Thailand roaming and Vietnam roaming.
| Operator | Thailand and Vietnam | Cambodia |
|---|---|---|
| Jio | all four lists, including ₹951 (4 GB, 10 days) and ₹1,551 (8 GB, 14 days) | World Pack and data packs; ₹1,499 for 2 GB over 14 days |
| Airtel | single list, one prepaid set | same list, same set |
| Vi Ultra | UL zone: the ₹3,495 7-day pack prints data as “FREE”, calls included per Vi | non-UL zone: the same ₹3,495 gives 2 GB and 200 minutes |
| Vi Budget | Set 1: ₹995 for 10 days gives 1.25 GB | Set 2: ₹995 for 10 days gives 250 MB |
| Vi postpaid | Set 1 UL | Set 2 |
One Ultra pack therefore carries two sets of terms on this route. On our side, the Asia plan lists Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam on fixed-GB rows; the Cambodia guide sets it against separate country plans, and the next section prices it.
Cost per GB for a 5-day and a 10-day Cambodia trip
The test: for each operator, the shortest pack that lasts the whole trip, ranked by price per GB (our division of price by data), with Vi’s “FREE”-data rows left out. Vi prints none for Cambodia, so every row here has a per-GB figure.
Five days: Airtel’s ₹998 pack fits exactly, about ₹250 per GB or ₹200 a day (our division). Jio’s shortest fit is the 7-day ₹599 data pack, about ₹599 per GB, no calls; with calls, the 14-day World Pack at about ₹750. Vi’s 5-day Budget pack gives 500 MB for ₹755, no calls, about ₹1,510. Order:
Airtel, Jio, Vi.
Ten days: Airtel’s ₹1,298 pack fits exactly, about ₹216 per GB or ₹130 a day (our division). Jio’s shortest fit is the 14-day ₹999 data pack, about ₹500, no calls; the World Pack stays at about ₹750. Vi’s 10-day Ultra gives 3 GB for ₹4,695, about ₹1,565. Order: Airtel, Jio, Vi.
Our Cambodia rows today: 1 GB over 7 days at ₹389, 3 GB over 30 days at ₹869 and 10 GB over 30 days at ₹2,049, about ₹205 per GB. The 7-day unlimited row costs ₹2,599 and slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. Your card is charged exactly the ₹ amount shown at checkout, in rupees; we don’t convert currency. Because the seller is registered outside India, some banks treat a rupee payment as international and may add a fee; check your card’s terms. How card payments work.
On 20 Oct 2026 the Asia plan cost less than the Cambodia plan for every row from 2 GB up: 3 GB over 30 days at ₹679, 10 GB at ₹1,349. Its 1 GB week row cost more, at ₹489, and it sells fixed-GB rows only. On Android it needs the access point name entered by hand (APN guide); keep an Asia line switched off until you land abroad.
Airtel’s 4 GB sits between our 3 GB and 5 GB rows. A pack adds minutes on your Indian number; our plans have none. Plan days start at the first connection to a Cambodian network. Every row is on the Cambodia eSIM page. The Cambodia SIM card guide covers a local SIM after landing, and a physical Cambodia SIM card from a local operator needs a free slot.
OTP codes are texts to your Indian number, and our eSIM carries only data. Run both lines: the Indian SIM with mobile data off for SMS, the Cambodia eSIM for data. No operator can promise that a text arrives. The guide to keep Indian number for OTP shows the dual-SIM settings.
Full refund within 30 days of purchase, as long as the eSIM has not connected to any network. If the eSIM doesn’t work and it isn’t your phone’s fault, we refund the payment whether or not it was installed.
How we checked these prices
Dates beside the rows show the checked on date of each operator document. International roaming Cambodia terms and the Jio international roaming plans for Cambodia rest on Jio’s plan list and country lists. Airtel’s rows come from its T&C of 24 Sep 2026, Vi’s from its prepaid and postpaid T&C. Vi prints its zones as an image that we typed in by hand, so confirm Cambodia in the Vi app. Jio’s data-pack text and linked list disagree on a country count, so we give none. FAQ
Which Jio international roaming plan covers Cambodia?
Cambodia is on Jio’s World Pack and data-pack lists, not its 100- or 75-country lists. The World Pack gives 2 GB over 14 days for ₹1,499 and 5 GB over 30 days for ₹2,899. The 7-day ₹599 data pack gives 1 GB with no calls, as listed on 2 Nov 2026.
Does Jio’s 100-country pack for Thailand work in Cambodia?
No. Jio’s 100-country list names Thailand and Vietnam but not Cambodia, so a ₹951 or ₹1,551 pack bought for Bangkok does not cover Siem Reap. The World Pack (₹1,499 for 2 GB over 14 days) lists all three countries.
How much is the Airtel IR pack for Cambodia?
Airtel sells the same prepaid set everywhere it roams. Five days fit ₹998 for 4 GB, about ₹250 per GB; ten days fit ₹1,298 for 6 GB, about ₹216 per GB (T&C dated 24 Sep 2026).
Is Vi’s Ultra pack unlimited in Cambodia?
No. Cambodia is in Vi’s non-UL zone, where the 7-day Ultra gives 2 GB and 200 minutes for ₹3,495. Thailand and Vietnam sit in the UL zone, where the same pack prints its data as “FREE”.
Is a travel eSIM cheaper than roaming in Cambodia?
Check on the day you buy. Airtel’s ₹998 pack comes to about ₹250 per GB with minutes; Jio’s 7-day ₹599 data pack to about ₹599 without. Our Cambodia plans carry data only.
