Short answer: Airtel and Vi sell short packs, Jio’s start at 14 days with calls

For a short trip, Airtel’s ₹998 prepaid pack gives 4 GB over 5 days, about ₹250 per GB, and Vi’s ₹755 Budget pack 1 GB over 5 days with no voice. Jio’s shortest voice-and-data pack is the World Pack, ₹1,499 for 2 GB over 14 days, about ₹750 per GB; its ₹599 data pack lasts 7 days.

Which Indian SIM works in Bangladesh? A Jio, Airtel or Vi SIM, once international roaming is on, but data needs a pack: without one, Airtel bars prepaid data abroad (Bangladesh SIM card guide). Our Bangladesh eSIM from India is data-only, on GrameenPhone 4G, with days counted from the first connection there.

India’s Ministry of Tourism counts 358,533 departures to Bangladesh in 2025, against 555,680 in 2024, about 35% fewer (our calculation); 90.44% were leisure or business trips.

Jio international roaming in Bangladesh: the World Pack and the data packs, not the 100-country pack

There is no Jio Bangladesh pack as such. The 100- and 75-country lists, home of Jio’s ₹589 one-day and ₹951 ten-day packs, skip Bangladesh, so a Jio user picks from the World Pack and the data packs. The Global Pack balance lists it too, but that balance is spent at standard roaming rates. Nepal has the same shape.

Prepaid and postpaid Jio users get the same packs. eSIM Go is not affiliated with Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL. Pack details are taken from their own pages on the date shown.

Only the World Pack family bundles minutes with the data. Jio’s pack validity runs from first use: “Your plan validity begins only with your first usage—call, text, or data.”

Airtel and Vi packs for Bangladesh (table)

The Airtel IR pack Bangladesh shares with every other country on Airtel’s list is its standard prepaid set. Book it up to 30 days before travel; if you do not travel within 30 days, it expires with no reimbursement. Vi puts Bangladesh in its non-UL zone, where Ultra data is capped, and in Budget Set 1.

On Vi postpaid, Bangladesh is in Set 2; we could not confirm that this country table is current. BSNL names Bangladesh on both its partner lists, and a partner network is not a pack. Vi’s prepaid T&C say IR packs are “not applicable for customers in J&K, Assam and North East”. Airtel’s FAQ page still shows older prices than its T&C of 24 Sep 2026.

Vi’s South Asia pack does not list Bangladesh

Vi’s South Asia pack costs ₹1,899 for 5 days, with 1 GB a day and 250 minutes, and lists Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia. Bangladesh is not on it, whatever the name suggests, so a Dhaka trip on Vi prepaid uses the Ultra or Budget rows above.

Cost per GB for a 5-day and a 14-day Bangladesh trip

Our verdict test, in words: each operator’s shortest pack that still lasts the whole trip, ranked by price per GB, with Vi’s FREE-data rows set aside (none apply here). Every ₹ per GB figure is our division of price by data, at prices listed on 19 Oct 2026.

Five days: Airtel’s ₹998 pack comes first at about ₹250 per GB. Jio has nothing with data under 7 days here, so its entry is the ₹599 data pack, about ₹599 per GB and no calls. Vi’s 5-day Budget pack follows at about ₹755, also without voice.

Fourteen days: Airtel has no 14-day prepaid pack, so its 30-day ₹2,998 ranks first at about ₹300 per GB. Jio’s 14-day ₹999 data pack follows at about ₹500, ahead of the ₹4,499 data pack (about ₹562) and the ₹1,499 World Pack with calls (about ₹750). Vi’s fit, the 14-day Ultra, costs about ₹1,039; its 15-day Budget pack, about ₹748, runs a day longer.

How we checked these prices

Each price comes from the operator’s own document, linked in its row with its date. For Jio international roaming in Bangladesh we went through five Jio lists; only the World Pack, data-pack and Global Pack lists carry Bangladesh. Vi’s zones are an image we typed out by hand, so check Bangladesh in the Vi app.
