# Jio, Airtel & Vi roaming in Spain vs a travel eSIM (checked 19 Oct 2026)

Jio international roaming plans for Spain come from its multi-country lists, and Airtel and Vi list Spain too. The lists split on day trips: of the three operators, only Airtel names Gibraltar. The 10 packs in our tables cost ₹599 to ₹3,495 (about ₹194–₹796 per GB where the data is capped), checked 19 Oct 2026.

## Short answer: all three list Spain, the day trips are where they split

Jio, Airtel and Vi each sell roaming packs that list Spain. Lowest per GB in our tables: Jio's ₹1,551 pack, 8 GB over 14 days, at about ₹194. For a week, Airtel's ₹1,298 prepaid pack (6 GB, 10 days) leads at about ₹216. Vi's 7-day ₹3,495 Ultra pack prints Spain's data as FREE. Prices as listed on 19 Oct 2026.

Which Indian SIM works in Spain? A Jio, Airtel or Vi SIM works once international roaming is on, but for mobile data, plan on a roaming pack: without one, Airtel bars prepaid data abroad and Vi keeps mobile data off.

India's Ministry of Tourism counts 109,618 departures to Spain in 2025, against 108,377 in 2024, about 1% more (our calculation); 71.05% were for leisure or business.

## Jio international roaming plans for Spain: 100-country and data packs

There is no Jio Spain pack as such. Spain is named on Jio's 100-country, World Pack, 75-country and data-pack lists, and on the list for its Global Pack balance. The four rows below are a selection from those lists. Jio sells the same packs to prepaid and postpaid customers.

On pack validity, Jio states: "Your plan validity begins only with your first usage—call, text, or data."

## Airtel and Vi packs for Spain (table)

Airtel sells one prepaid set for every covered country, so the Airtel IR pack Spain travellers buy comes from that set, which includes ₹998, ₹1,298 and ₹2,998 for 5, 10 and 30 days. Vi lists Spain in its prepaid UL zone, where the 7-day ₹3,495 Ultra pack prints data as FREE, and in Budget Set 1.

Airtel's prepaid packs can be booked up to 30 days before travel; if you do not travel within 30 days, the pack expires with no reimbursement.

Vi's 10- and 14-day Ultra packs (₹4,695 and ₹5,195) print Spain's data as FREE too. Its postpaid table puts Spain in Set 1, where ₹3,649 for 7 days prints data as FREE; we could not confirm that this country table is current. Vi's prepaid T&C say IR packs are "not applicable for customers in J&K, Assam and North East".

Airtel's FAQ page still shows older prices; the T&C dated 24 Sep 2026 list ₹998 and ₹1,298. BSNL lists Spain as a prepaid and postpaid partner network, and a partner network is not a pack.

## Spain with Portugal, Gibraltar, Andorra or Morocco: which list names each

Portugal is on the same Jio, Airtel and Vi lists as Spain. Of the three operators, only Airtel lists Gibraltar. Andorra is on Jio's and Airtel's lists, not Vi's. Morocco is on Airtel's list and in Vi's non-UL zone, while Jio names it only on its Global Pack balance list. The table records list entries, not coverage.

Jio sells no data pack for Morocco; only the Global Pack balance, spent at standard roaming rates, lists it. Vi puts Morocco in its non-UL zone, where the 7-day ₹3,495 Ultra gives 2 GB and 200 minutes instead of FREE data. On a Spain trip with a day in Morocco, one Ultra pack carries two sets of terms; how Vi counts it across both is not in its terms, so ask Vi.

The Global plan that lists Andorra also lists India, so keep its line switched off until you land abroad.

## Cost per GB for a 7-day and a 14-day Spain trip

Airtel's ₹1,298 prepaid pack ranks first for a 7-day Spain trip, at about ₹216 per GB; Jio's ₹1,551 pack ranks first for 14 days, at about ₹194. The test: take each operator's shortest pack that lasts every day, rank by price per GB, and leave out Vi's FREE-data rows. Prices as listed on 19 Oct 2026.

Seven days: Jio's shortest fit, the 7-day ₹599 data pack, comes second at about ₹599 per GB; with calls, ₹951 buys 10 days at about ₹238. Vi's 7-day Ultra prints data as FREE and stays out; its 10-day Budget pack ranks last at about ₹796. At the [data guide's](/how-much-data-do-i-need/) 0.8 GB a day, a week needs about 5.6 GB (our calculation), which Airtel's 6 GB pack holds.

Fourteen days: Airtel has no 14-day prepaid pack, so its fit, ₹2,998 for 30 days (about ₹300 per GB), comes second. Vi's 14-day Ultra (₹5,195) prints data as FREE and stays out; its 15-day Budget pack, a day longer, comes last at about ₹748.

Spain is named in five Jio country lists, on Airtel's covered-countries page (read 21 Oct 2026) and on Vi's prepaid UL, Budget Set 1 and postpaid Set 1 lists. Vi publishes its zones as an image, which we transcribed by hand; confirm Spain in the Vi app.
