# Jio, Airtel & Vi roaming in Bali vs a travel eSIM bought in India (checked 13 Oct 2026)

A Bali holiday can run on a Jio, Airtel or Vi roaming pack or on an eSIM for Bali from India. Every pack that works in Bali is an Indonesia pack, and Vi offers the most routes: South Asia, Ultra and Budget. The nine packs in our two tables cost about ₹194 to ₹748 per GB where data is capped, checked 13 Oct 2026.

## Short answer: Bali roaming packs from Jio, Airtel and Vi

No operator sells a Bali-only pack; Bali is roamed as part of Indonesia. Jio lists Indonesia on four multi-country lists, Airtel covers it with its one all-country set, and Vi names it in South Asia (₹1,899 for 5 days) as well as its Ultra and Budget zones. Eight of the nine packs below include minutes on your Indian number.

Our eSIM for Bali from India is the data route: one Indonesia plan whose coverage list names Bali, Java, Lombok and the Gili Islands among other places. Install the eSIM in India; it connects when you land abroad. Pick a pack instead if calls on your Indian number matter during the trip.

Holidays dominate this route. India's Ministry of Tourism counted 497,260 departures to Indonesia in 2025, against 498,675 in 2024, about 0.3% fewer (our calculation), and 96.18% of the 2025 departures were for leisure or business. It publishes no Bali-only figure.

## Jio packs that cover Indonesia

There is no Jio Indonesia / Bali pack of its own. Indonesia sits on Jio's 100-country, 75-country, World Pack and data-pack lists; the four rows below, a selection, cost ₹589 to ₹1,551 as listed on 13 Oct 2026. For a Bali week, the cheapest Jio option is the ₹599 data pack with no calls; with calls, ₹951 covers 10 days.

At 0.3 GB a day, the lightest profile in our [data guide](/how-much-data-do-i-need/), a week uses about 2.1 GB (our calculation), so the ₹599 pack's 1 GB runs out; the ₹951 pack's 4 GB is the safer Jio buy. In Jio's own words, pack benefits apply "only on the preferred partner network in the visited country", and "Your plan validity begins only with your first usage—call, text, or data."

## Airtel and Vi packs for Bali, including Vi South Asia (table)

Vi roaming Indonesia / Bali has three routes: South Asia at ₹1,899 for 1 GB a day over 5 days with 250 minutes, Ultra in the UL zone where Vi prints the data as FREE, and Budget Set 1 at ₹1,495 for 2 GB over 15 days. Airtel's Bali option is its all-country prepaid set. The same South Asia pack covers [Malaysia](/roaming/malaysia/), Singapore, Thailand and Sri Lanka.

Airtel also lists ₹698 for one day with 1 GB. Its FAQ page still shows older prices, while the T&C dated 24 Sep 2026 list ₹998 and ₹1,298. You can book an Airtel prepaid pack up to 30 days before travel; if you do not travel within 30 days, the pack expires with no reimbursement. Vi states that its IR packs are "not applicable for customers in J&K, Assam and North East", and we leave out Vi's postpaid table because we could not confirm it is current.

## Cost per GB for a 5-day and a 7-day Bali trip

A 5-day Bali trip costs about ₹190 a day on Jio's ₹951 pack, ₹200 on Airtel's ₹998 and ₹380 on Vi South Asia, the only one with 5 GB. Over 7 days, Jio's ₹951 pack is about ₹136 a day, its ₹599 data pack about ₹86, Airtel's ₹1,298 pack about ₹185, and Vi Ultra about ₹499.

These are our derivations from prices listed on 13 Oct 2026. Airtel's ₹998 pack lasts 5 days, so a 7-day holiday needs its 10-day pack.

A physical Indonesia SIM card from a local operator, such as one bought at Bali airport, needs a free slot: on a single-slot phone your Indian SIM comes out. We quote no prices for it.

On a honeymoon or family week, bank OTPs still go to your Indian number as SMS, and a data-only eSIM cannot receive them. To keep Indian number for OTP use, leave that SIM in as a second line with mobile data off, and ask your operator whether SMS reaches you in Indonesia. Airtel prepaid's ₹118 activation "allows unlimited incoming SMS" for 28 days with an active base pack; Vi's ₹118 pack makes incoming SMS free for 28 days. Full refund within 30 days of purchase, as long as the eSIM has not connected to any network. If the eSIM doesn't work and it isn't your phone's fault, we refund the payment whether or not it was installed.

Figures come from the operators' own documents: Jio's plan list, Airtel's T&C PDF dated 24 Sep 2026 and Vi's prepaid T&C PDF. ≈ ₹ per GB is price ÷ GB. We tested no activation. A Jio, Airtel or Vi SIM works once international roaming is on, but for mobile data plan on a roaming pack. Without one, Airtel bars prepaid data abroad and Vi keeps mobile data off. The nine packs in our tables cost ₹589 to ₹3,495 as listed on 13 Oct 2026.

### How much is the Airtel IR pack for Bali?

Bali uses Airtel's one pack set for every covered country. Its T&C of 24 Sep 2026 list prepaid packs at ₹698 (1 GB, 1 day), ₹998 (4 GB, 5 days), ₹1,298 (6 GB, 10 days) and ₹2,998 (10 GB, 30 days).

### Which Jio international roaming plan covers Bali and what does it cost?
