# Jio, Airtel & Vi roaming in Bahrain vs a travel eSIM (checked 19 Oct 2026)

Jio international roaming in Bahrain has a catch: the Saudi Arabia pack, printed "Pack applicable in Saudi Arabia only.", does not reach Manama, while the 100-country pack lists both countries. Vi adds another: outside its UL zone, the 7-day Ultra gives 2 GB in Bahrain. The 16 packs in our tables cost ₹589 to ₹5,195 (about ₹194–₹1,748 per GB where the data is capped), checked 19 Oct 2026.

## Short answer: which Indian packs cover Bahrain

Jio, Airtel and Vi each sell roaming packs that list Bahrain; Jio's Saudi Arabia pack is not one of them. Per GB, Airtel's ₹1,298 prepaid pack (6 GB, 10 days) costs about ₹216, its ₹998 pack (4 GB, 5 days) about ₹250, Jio's ₹951 (4 GB, 10 days) about ₹238 and Vi's 7-day Ultra about ₹1,748.

Which Indian SIM works in Bahrain? Any Jio, Airtel or Vi SIM once international roaming is on, with a pack for data. A Bahrain eSIM from India covers data only: ours runs on STC and Batelco 5G, and its days start at the first connection in Bahrain.

India's Ministry of Tourism counts 383,184 departures to Bahrain in 2025, against 379,204 in 2024, about 1% more (our calculation); 38.6% were leisure or business trips.

## Jio international roaming in Bahrain: the 100-country pack, and the Gulf pack note

There is no Jio Bahrain pack as such. Four Jio lists with data name Bahrain, the 100-country, 75-country, World Pack and data-pack lists, and the rows below are a selection; prepaid and postpaid customers get the same packs. The Saudi Arabia pack does not cover Bahrain.

On the Gulf pack, Jio's description of this pack says UAE only, while another note on the same page lists six Gulf countries — confirm in the MyJio app before you rely on it outside the UAE.

All but the data pack include calls. Jio counts pack validity from first use: "Your plan validity begins only with your first usage—call, text, or data."

## Airtel and Vi packs for Bahrain, and why Vi's Ultra data is capped there (table)

Airtel sells one prepaid set for every country it covers, so the Airtel IR pack Bahrain travellers buy is its ₹998, ₹1,298 or ₹2,998 pack, booked up to 30 days before travel; if you do not travel within 30 days, it expires with no reimbursement. Vi lists Bahrain in its non-UL zone and Budget Set 1.

Vi prints Ultra data as FREE only inside its 40-country UL zone, which holds Kuwait and the UAE but not Bahrain. Its postpaid table puts Bahrain in Set 2, not in Set 1 with Kuwait, the UAE and Oman; we could not confirm that this country table is current. BSNL names Bahrain as a prepaid and postpaid partner, which is not a pack. Vi's prepaid T&C say IR packs are "not applicable for customers in J&K, Assam and North East". Airtel's FAQ page still shows older prices than its T&C of 24 Sep 2026.

## Bahrain with Saudi Arabia on one trip: which pack covers both

A Riyadh or Dammam leg plus Manama needs a pack whose list names both countries. All four Jio lists in the table do, unlike its Saudi Arabia pack. Airtel's single list names both, and so do Vi's non-UL and Budget Set 1 lists; Vi's Haj pack lists Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Iraq, not Bahrain.

Adding Dubai changes only Vi's Ultra: one pack carries two sets of terms, data printed as FREE in the UAE and 2 GB over 7 days in Bahrain. ## Cost per GB for a 5-day and a 10-day Bahrain trip

The verdict test, in words: each operator's shortest pack that lasts the whole trip, ranked by price per GB, with Vi's FREE-data rows left out (Bahrain has none). The ₹ per GB figures are our division of price by data, at prices listed on 19 Oct 2026.

Five days: Airtel's ₹998 pack ranks first, about ₹250 per GB or ₹200 a day. Jio's shortest fit is the 7-day ₹599 data pack, about ₹599 per GB, no calls. Vi's 5-day Budget pack comes last at about ₹755, no voice.

Ten days: Airtel's ₹1,298 leads again at about ₹216 per GB, ₹130 a day, then Jio's ₹951 at about ₹238 and Vi's 10-day Budget pack at about ₹796. At 0.8 GB a day, ten days need about 8 GB (our calculation), more than Airtel's 6 GB; Jio's 14-day ₹1,551 holds 8 GB.
